On March 3, 2011, a very skinny pit bull gave birth to 11 puppies; one was stillborn. On March 16, 2011, the mom and her pups were rescued by Rugaz Rescue and brought to us. The pups all found their forever homes a couple of months later. Heidi was heartworm positive, and lived with us until mid-2012 when she was adopted by a lady in south Florida. This blog is the story of Heidi and Her Pups.

Puppy roll call, 03-22-2011, 19 days old
The first two weeks of age are considered the neo-natal period. The third week, which they are in now, is the transitional period, and by the fourth week, they enter the "toddler" stage (apologies for the anthropomorphizing.)
